| Manchester Discount Beverages and Deli: In 1981, Bub and Ginny Cueman took over MDB from John and Janet Ward and the transition towards the current business began. In the 90’s MDB was awarded the State Liquor Contract and has sold spirits in the Manchester and the Mountains area ever since. The wine department was tripled when longtime employee Randy Keyes became the wine specialist. Today, Randy is the number one wine expert in the retail trade arena in all of Vermont. If you desire a special vintage, hard to find product, or any wine information he is your source. Two years ago MDB brought in Russ Kelly to manage the beer department and it was the beginning of the States largest boutique beer shop. He and his assistant Mark Patulak are available everyday to answer and assist with any specialty beer inquiries. In addition, MDB still has the areas’ largest and most successful take out Deli, the State Bottle Redemption Center is housed on the premises, and full service Vermont Lottery gaming is another service provide to residents and tourists alike.
MDB today is truly a one stop shopping delight. The same atmosphere of friendly service, current conversation and a blending of the past and present make this a truly great Manchester Center landmark.
